Makes you appreciate the benefits of a camera, mind. Imagine those old Dutch masters hauling their canvases out there into the freezing cold, sitting for hours, trying to squeeze the paint with frozen fingers – did they even have gloves in those days? – while all the people kept moving round. Just start on a skater, look up again, and the bastard's twenty yards further off facing the other direction. Nightmare. They suffered for their art alright, those hardy souls.
