But what we don't yet know is the extent to which Joe Biden is set on reviving Obama's doomed attempts at rapprochement with Iran via a revival of the JCPOA. That could put an unwelcome spanner in the works.

    I think that Israel has been giving medical care to Syrians for a long time. I remember a news report a few years ago showing hospital rooms with wounded soldiers or ISIS fighters (I’m not sure which). What stuck with me was a scene in which one guy who, on seeing the video camera, pulled his blanket over his face. He apparently didn’t want to be seen getting help from the Israelis.
