Bau der Jannowitz-Brücke – Einschwenken einer Stütze, 1931

No hint of what was to come. There is a small political section in the archive, showing Nazi banners and the like, but clearly Pragher was not a political animal. No "yet throughout his photos we get a sense of foreboding, a warning of the nightmare that was just around the corner". Not even any Cabaret-style decadence. Just a young photographer wandering round a large prosperous European city, with an eye for a good composition.
