Even in my youth this was already on the way out (we had girls in metalwork and boys in home economics) and besides which – does she/he/it not understand that girls had to play hockey which was more vicious than even Rugby. It’s not like girls were taught to be genteel.
I defy this man to find one, just one, teacher who discourages girls from sport. -
I don’t think that excluding trans-women from women’s sports is discrimination against them. The fact is that, though they may be women psychologically, they are not completely women physically.
Yes, there are hormone treatments and there is surgery, but these can only make for a partial makeover, an approximation of the characteristics of the opposite sex. The transition isn’t a complete one because the science isn’t advanced enough to make that possible. So, for instance, trans-women will still have the muscle mass more typical of men.
The answer isn’t to deny the truth, but to continue the research into treatments so that the transitions can be more complete in the future, if that is at all possible.
